Town _ Margaret street Artwork :

Whilst walking through town i came across this screen that wasn't working or had a techinical fault, but i spotted the test card image straight away and reminded myself of colour theory and my love for Peter Saville.

After i went into town i went past Margaret street which is BCU's art institute, and came across this project with real butterflies which the student then made two big murals based on this piece i thought inspired by Damien Hirst at first but maybe its taking his idea back a step to a point where we can view them and really study their beauty.

For the 24 hour brief i looked into two different styled outcomes and in my opinion this is a better outcome so i have gone with the Hummingbird idea, and these are the 3 final poster drafts.

Whilst i was playing with ideas and going wild doing all sorts due to it being a summer brief i was playing with shadows and light in my room ( exciting i know) but the shadows that where cast from the silhouette were rather nice here is one of the images that would go towards idea generation.

24 hour Brief - Hummingbird _ posters: Update

Due to me faffing with colours and going wild with my keyboard i don't normally use effects, but for some reason i changed the colours which where over layed on top of the bird and it reminded me of something i have seen by Stefan Sagmeister but i then started dropping colours on now and again trying not to over do it and also not making it too plain, i made the test stand back so it had a visually aesthetic feel straight away but also trying not to mess up the intended meaning.

24 Hour _ Hockley 24 Hours :

I began to look at a small animation or some for of motion and i filmed out of the window to the area where i live and left it to record for 15 minutes, when i reviewed the footage it was boring until i sped it up and i realised the people, shadows and light gives it a real platform to start something or a nice peace of motion without post production and everything that happens is natural.

Along with the campaign about wasting time i realised i was looking to much into complex outcomes that make sense to me but nobody else would get it, so i was talking to my girlfriend about design and art, (being the losers that we are) when she mentioned something about looking at the humming bird, so i started doing my research and found out some brilliant facts about it flying and how many times a day it flaps its wings so these three posters are tests, information graphics styled in the way i have put facts on some and left them on others but all in all i just wanted to play and manipulate the form of the bird to create something that looks beautiful visually. Problems i face are certain areas where theres type i need to think about where its being placed or not having it on their at all but then it may look solely like a peace of eye candy.
